Coach Anna

Anna Abakumova Head Coach
Level 3 USA Swimming. Coach Anna has been coaching since 1998. During that time, she has prepared two swimmers for the Uzbekistan National Swimming Team, as well as improving the swimming skills of many junior members of the Uzbekistan National Swimming Team. We are proud to have her coaching the Clifton Seahawks.  Her background includes:
1998-2007 – Coach at State Olympic Reserve Swimming School, Tashkent Uzbekistan.
2008-2010 – Age Group Coach, Clifton Seahawks.
2010-present – Head Coach, Clifton Seahawks.
2015-2017 two Seahawks swimmers broke 21 NJ state records in 10 & Under age group.

Samantha Berkenbosch

 

Coach Chris Chris Hyde  Level 2 USA Swimming Coach. Chris is a graduate of Seton Hall University, where he swam for their NCAA Division 1 team. He was also captain of the Clifton High School swim team, where he set several school records. Before that, he was a member of the Montclair Dolphins swim team. Besides coaching, Chris maintains the Seahawks website and Professional Administrative Official for Winter Cup and Dual meets.

Coach Rina Rina Hyde

  Level 2 USA Swimming Coach. Rina joined the Seahawks in 2001 after completing her own swimming career. Rina works primarily with the youngest Seahawks and is a strong believer in developing proper stroke technique from an early age. Many older Seahawks participate in Rina’s Lifeguarding and CPR programs and Professional Administrative Official for Winter Cup and Dual meets.

 

Angelina Parra

 Level 1 ASCA swimming coach with a deep love for swimming. She has been swimming at the Boys and Girls Club of Clifton for over 8 years. It’s been an incredible journey from lifeguard to swim instructor, and now as a coach. As a senior at Wallington Junior Senior High School, she understand the importance of balancing academics and athletics. Angelina believes in fostering a positive and supportive environment where we can all thrive as athletes and individuals. Together, we’ll work hard, push our limits, and achieve greatness both in and out of the water. When she’s not on the pool deck, you can find her pursuing her dreams at Ramapo College, where she’s majoring in Biology Pre-Medicine to become a physician assistant. Let’s make a splash together and create a strong, united team that supports and encourages one another. Go Seahawks!”

 

Julia Berkenbosch

 Level 1 ASCA swim coach with a deep passion for teaching swimming. Her journey started at the Boys and Girls Club, where she learned to swim and swiftly joined the Seahawks swim team for 13 remarkable years. From teaching beginner to advanced competitive levels, her love for swimming grew. She began coaching officially in the 2023-2024 winter season after assisting the team for a year. At Passaic County Technical Institute, she excelled academically in the Academy of Health and Medical Sciences while swimming on the varsity team for four seasons. As captain, she contributed to the team’s numerous 1st place wins in major championships. Recognized as a 1st Team All County and 1st Team Big North Swimmer for all four seasons, she also qualified for the Meet of Champions three times. Continuing her dedication to swimming and academics, she pursued Biomedicine at Kean University, where she swam at the Division III level. The undefeated season and NJAC championship victory were highlights of her collegiate career. As a coach at Seahawks, her aim is to empower and guide our swimmers in both their athletic and academic pursuits, while instilling life lessons and fostering a love for the sport
